Chat Thai Continuum

I’ve been having way too much thai food this past month, particularly at Chat Thai and particularly the one that is located at the Pitt St Sydney Westfield! I’m sure many of you have experienced the food here which is great on all fronts. But for those who haven’t yet, a wait of at least 30 minutes is routine every time, but once you get in and the food is soon inside your tummy, it is awesome. So awesome that you wouldn’t mind doing it all again… the following week!

I went again tonight with a few friends from work and Gareth joined in on the fun. It was wicked – except for when the debate about the correct/incorrect usage of the word “chilli” to describe something spicy occurs! This seems to happen every time that I need spicy food (mainly because I use chilli to describe spicy things – that contain chilli!) Anyway, so today’s trip reminded me of a previous time that I went here, which also happened to be a time that I took some photos on my iPhone – so please do enjoy such edible glory!

Blue Mountains: Flower Power

On the final day of our recent Blue Mountains trip, we visited the Botanic Gardens in Mount Tomah on the way back to Sydney which was AMAZING to say the least! My opinion here is probably quite biased given the fact that (a) I love flowers, (b) I love taking photos, and above all (c) I LOVE taking photos of flowers.

We spent about 2-3hrs here including eating lunch at the café which had delicious food but awfully slow service. Anyway words here definitely don’t do the flowers justice, so I’ll keep it short and snappy.

Enjoy the photos, hopefully just as much as I had a blast taking them. This is the last edition of the Blue Mountains trip – next up I’ll finally blog about the week that was San Francisco!

Blue Mountains: Mother Nature

Another amazing day at the Blue Mountains was spent driving around (the most awesome winding roads), stopping here and there and leaving it to the road to lead the way.

We love taking in all that mother nature has to offer whilst sipping some hot tea and jamming ‘n’ creaming up soft scones. In fact, Gareth and I often muse about how spectacular that within just a few hours drive from the busy centre of Sydney, you can immerse yourself amongst such beautiful scenery and complete tranquility. As long as you have a spare few days and access to a car, a vacation away like this is perfectly do-able and easy!

Apart from tea and scones, stopping off at surprise look out points are also a bonus! I’ve picked out some favourite moments from the day… enjoy!

Blue Mountains Day 1 & 2

Okay so I’m getting my sh*t back in order, and this starts with reliving our recent trip over Christmas to the Blue Mountains, in 3 parts.

It was unbelievably the first time I visited the area, so I was much more excited than Gareth was. We had an awesome time: we drove there and back, spent 4 days there in an apartment and I managed to tick off nearly everything on my to do and see list. Highlights would definitely be the Scenic World rainforest, the Botanic Gardens and of course the amazing Jenolan Caves!

On the first two days, we checked out the Scenic World and caught the scenic railway down to the rainforest area where we trekked the long route to explore the surroundings. In my state of a shutterbug, I proceeded to snap away in a frenzy before realising that I needed to stop now and then to appreciate the wonderful things in front of me with my own eyes. Which was perfect timing too since Gareth wanted to take over! He thinks he’s pretty talented behind the lens, or so he boasts constantly so to me, but I beg to differ.

In any case, here are some photo highlights from the first two days, featuring The 3 Sisters, the rainforest and the Jenolan Caves, specifically the Orient Cave…

Puppy Eyes

This is my boyfriend’s family’s dog. She’s uber cute and goes by the name of Crystal most of the time. I couldn’t resist posting up a few photos of her. They actually go back to Christmas time last year (which reminds me: IT’S ALREADY FEBRUARY).

Meanwhile, more regular blogging is on the agenda. And so is a layout/UI refresh because it’s been a while and I want a cleaner, fresher look. More snappy posts too, I’m thinking. More on this later when I’m not distracted.

I’m awfully tired after a hectic week of work and post-San-Francisco-kick-back-into-shape-at-the-gym thing which pretty much has blocked out most of my time during the days and evenings this week. This weekend is going to be mostly all down time for me, which I’m looking forward to. So expect to hear from me soon friends!

New New

A belated happy new year to you all! It’s been a while since our last post, officially it was ‘last year’, and so much has happened.

Over the past four weeks, I have:

Moved in with Mr G
Started a new job
Visited San Francisco for a week for work and training
Been without proper Internet at home since moving out

Okay, so there are only 4 things there but in all honesty, they’re all pretty massive – milestones even!

I’ve just realised I never had the chance to post up photos from the Blue Mountains trip either! Although I did manage to squeeze in time somehow to edit and cull them. There’s just been so much happening, and so much more that has added to my plate of life (some would call them ‘adult life responsibilities’), that it’s been hard getting back into my normal routine and enjoying the things I usually do in my free time (what free time?!)

In any case, I’m determined to get back into the groove, and resurrect my blogging mojo!
