Bon anniversaire // Happy birthday !!
♂ l’anniversaire : the birthday
It was Gareth’s glorious birthday yesterday, so I took him out to dinner and decided that some greek food at Medusa’s Greek Tavern would be perfect! We were planning to head to Greece at one point during the year whilst we were still overseas but never ended up going due to riots, deaths and strikes that were happening coincidentally at the same time so I guess this sort of made up for it.

The food, particularly the dessert was delicious! Service was outstanding too which completely surprised me (I guess I never expect anything better than the typical French service these days ha!)

Cretab Paithakia
Lamb cutlets, marinated in lemon, oregano, grilled, served on a burnt butter and shaved kefalotiri spaghetti

Stifatho Me Kreas
Fillet beef pieces, baby onions, bayleaf, peppercorn, tomato casserole on potato keftethes
So after our main meals, Gareth wasn’t completely full and I always enjoy some delicious dessert, so we decided why not, let’s go for the ‘dessert plate for two’ which basically is a taste of all the desserts on display. And this is what we got… A MASSIVE DESSERT BONANZA! Completely stunned by how large the proportions are, and then we soon laughed our heads off when the table of 4 near us ordered the SAME thing to share between them and couldn’t finish it either hehe…
My top picks out of the platter? Without a doubt the galactobouriko, absolutely mouthwatering omg (the rectangular pastry thing on the right, next to the cinnamon pear slices). And the Medusa strawberries (centre) were amazing too with the coulis mmm :)

Dessert Plate for Two
Medusa strawberries, baclava, galactobouriko, kadaifi
loukoumades, vissino with ouzo ice cream

Delicious (!!) Medusa strawberries
