How has your Monday been friends? Thankfully for the sunny weather, today ended up being cheery for the both of us although Gareth is studying way too hard for his upcoming exam.

Now I’m sure many of you have discovered, thanks recently to Gareth, that we both have our iPhones glued to our hands these days… Obviously the more interesting thing besides from the phone’s capabilities are the apps available for download. Apart from the numerous games (Sally’s Spa!) and helpful apps (Shazam) that I’ve downloaded, one that clearly warrants mentioning ever since its pre-release is… INSTAGRAM ♥

Not only is it FREE, it is the essential app for anyone that is even mildly interested in taking photos on their smartphone. What does it do? You simply snap a photo, and then apply the various skin effects onto the photo. Your photo suddenly becomes very cool in the way that you want it!

Pro photographer or amateur noob – this is your calling. Not only have I become even more addicted and in love with taking photos and using my phone, but thanks to Instagram, I have created works of art (or so I’d like to think so myself ha) and persuaded several friends to hop onto the wagon too (so I have more followers, clearly!)

I highly rate its user interface because it’s very easy to use and you can instantly connect it to Twitter and Facebook etc so the photo gets immediately linked/posted. There’s also a ‘following’ function and ‘liking’ function, as well as a ‘popular’ photo feed.

Now if only Instagram added an extra feature so that new photos/users could be easier found which aren’t necessarily already ‘popular’. Currently, it’s difficult to see anything or anyone new asides from the people you’re already following, and often those were the people you found within the ‘popular’ feed anyway. I think it’s about time for the not-so-cool kids to get some limelight, wouldn’t you agree?
